VIDEO – Inserting a Punctal Plug – an in-office Dry Eye Treatment
This video shows Dr. Emrick inserting a punctal plug into a patient’s left, lower eyelid. Punctal plugs are safe, dissolvable, small plugs that block the drainage of our natural moisture to allow our natural tears to stay on our eyes longer. This is a common treatment for dry eyes that is usually covered by medical insurance. We use 6-month dissolvable plugs and most patients notice improvement in their symptoms. This helps with dry, irritated, scratchy and watery eyes.
