Dr. Eric W. Lamp grew up in the Wichita area and graduated from Friends University in 1988. He earned a double major in Chemistry and Biology and played for the soccer and tennis teams. He attended the University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry and graduated from there in 1992. His education included research in the field of sports vision and the impact of vision training on performance. After practicing in Liberal, KS, for one year and then Parsons, KS, for three, Dr. Lamp joined West Wichita Family Optometrists in 1996.

He enjoys the variety that family practice optometry brings with it. Patients of all ages with various conditions provide for a very interesting profession. Dr. Lamp is licensed to treat medical eye conditions that range from glaucoma to moderate trauma. He also enjoys the pre- and post-operative care associated with LASIK and cataract surgery. A large portion of Dr. Lamp’s practice is devoted to diabetic eye care.

Dr. Lamp has been married to his college sweetheart since 1993. They have four children and enjoy them immensely. His hobbies include; woodworking, theology, and auto restoration. Dr. Lamp is a member of the Sunflower Woodworking Guild. He’s also a member at Heartland Community Church.
