Dr. Jenna Dougherty is a West Wichita native and graduated from Goddard High School. She went on to graduate from Wichita State University with her Bachelor of Science in Biology and was a member of the Shocker Dance Team. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from Northeastern State University. During her years in optometry school, Dr. Dougherty spent time managing a variety of ocular diseases for Cherokee Nation citizens. She participated in various school groups such as Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, Bedlam Volunteer Clinic, and completed a medical mission trip to Roatán, Honduras with SVOSH. Dr. Dougherty completed her externship with an emphasis in pediatric exams and vision therapy.
Dr. Dougherty joined West Wichita Family Optometrists in 2024. Her passion is performing comprehensive eye care for all ages which includes yearly eye exams, fitting contact lenses, managing ocular diseases, and treating eye emergencies. She is an active member of the Kansas Optometric Association and is dedicated to the advancement and expansion of full-scope optometry in Kansas.
Dr. Dougherty is married to her high school sweetheart, Austin. They saved a stray dog from a Walmart parking lot, so they named him Wally. They enjoy riding bikes (with Wally in the basket), watching Chiefs football, and spending time with family. Dr. Dougherty is excited to be back in the area serving her West Wichita and Goddard communities. She is looking forward to getting to know patients and their families!
